PASO DEL SUR GROUP

VERDE GROUP DENIES ANY CONNECTION TO BINATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

An email to Doña Ana County Commissioners

Dear Chairman Evans:

As you are aware, over the past two or three months there have been discussions, newspaper articles, blogs, and mass e-mails about the difficult situation in Lomas del Poleo. Some of these articles have implied that Verde Realty may, in some way, be associated witht he ownership of that property.

Furthermore, we understand that the Commission may consider a resolution regarding Lomas del Poleo at its meeting on February 26, 2008, and that Mr. Dan Townsend may make a presentation on Lomas del Poleo, including a discussion of Verde Realty.

We do not personally seek publicity; therefore, we have a consistent policy of not responding to matters in the media. In the business world, the key measures of performance are meeting the expectations of one's shareholders and providing a rewarding work environment for one’s employees; therefore, if there are articles that occasionally misrepresent our business view or activities, it is little more than disconcerting.
Some of the recent articles, blogs, and e-mails, however, have had a very different tenor. They have associated Verde Realty and its leadership with the killing of young women (sic) and potentially gross violations of human rights. These implications are completely false and require us to provide a clear response.

     The facts that the Commission should know are:

(1) The nearest Verde Realty-owned property in the Juarez, Mexico area is to the east of Lomas del Poleo (approximately 16 miles);

(2) Neither Verde Realty nor its management owns directly or indirectly any portion of the San Jeronimo project;

(3) Neither Verde Realty nor its management provide any business services to or consulting relationship with the San Jeronimo project;

(4) There is no formal or informal relationship or coordination between Verde Realty’s potential development in Santa Teresa and the potential development of the San Jeronimo project; and

(5) No director of Verde Realty is affiliated (directly or indirectly) with the San Jeronimo project.

Our objective has been (and continues to be) to be a positive factor in the growth and evolution of Santa Teresa. We hope that we can work with you for the improvement of the quality of life and the creation of jobs in southern Doña Ana County.

Sincerely,
VERDE REALTY
C. Ronald Blankenship, Co-Chairman
